YBB — The HZDR Summer Student Program 2026 invites you to explore scientific research at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf in Germany. The research center is located in Dresden, a city known as “Florence on the Elbe”.
Each year between July and September, selected students join research groups at HZDR. You can participate directly in ongoing scientific work and interdisciplinary activities
The program welcomes senior university students from natural sciences, life sciences, medicine, technology, and related fields. Researchers at HZDR prepare a project plan for you and supervise the work from start to finish.
The experience includes lectures and laboratory tours that introduce you to different research branches. These sessions help you understand how scientific disciplines interact and evolve.
The program aims to foster collaborative scientific development at an international level. HZDR emphasizes the value of integrative knowledge and interdisciplinary synergy.
The application period runs from 24 November 2025 until 22 February 2026. Students from universities worldwide are encouraged to apply.
HZDR will release acceptance notifications by the end of April 2026. Only applicants who meet the academic criteria will be considered.
