YBB - The Ajinomoto Scholarship 2027 is a prestigious fully funded program for Indonesian students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in Japan. Distributed by PT Ajinomoto Indonesia through the Ajinomoto Foundation, this scholarship supports outstanding candidates with strong academic performance and high motivation for advanced study.
The program allows selected scholars to study at leading Japanese universities in science-related fields, including agriculture, biotechnology, nutrition, and chemistry.

Applicants may apply to designated universities and study programs as follows:
- University of Tokyo – Agricultural and Life Sciences
- Kyoto University – Agriculture, Biostudies
- Nagoya University – Bio Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry & Biotechnology
- Institute of Science Tokyo – Biophysics and Biochemistry
- Ochanomizu University – Biological Sciences, Food and Nutritional Science
- Japan Nutrition University – Nutrition Sciences
- Waseda University – Chemistry and Biochemistry
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Indonesian citizenship
- Completion of 16 years of education or expected graduation with an excellent academic record
- Minimum GPA of 3.7 from the last university attended
- Age under 35 years old as of 1 April 2026
- Recommendation from a university president, academic advisor, or equivalent authority
- Strong academic character, motivation, and good physical and mental health
- Not receiving any other scholarship
- Willingness to participate in the selection process conducted by PT Ajinomoto Indonesia
Applicants must also be able to:
- Obtain acceptance as a Research Student or Master’s Course Student at a Japanese university
- Meet the required Japanese language proficiency for Master’s study
- Secure a valid passport and Japanese student visa
Scholarship Benefits
The Ajinomoto Scholarship 2027 provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Full coverage of examination, admission, and tuition fees
- Monthly living allowance:
- ¥150,000 per month for Research Students (1 year)
- ¥180,000 per month for Master’s Students (2 years)
- One-way flight ticket from Indonesia to Japan
- Campus entrance assistance
- Psychological test fees for shortlisted candidates
- Travel and hotel accommodation for interview-stage candidates
Selection Process
PT Ajinomoto Indonesia manages the selection process in multiple stages. Nominated applicants who pass the second screening must submit additional documents required by their chosen universities.
Applicants who plan to enroll in October should pay close attention to university-specific application deadlines, as schedules differ from April enrollment. Candidates should contact their intended graduate schools directly for detailed timelines.

The Ajinomoto Scholarship 2027 is completely free of charge. PT Ajinomoto Indonesia does not collect any fees at any stage of the application or selection process.
